McGavern Wedding Reception 2-2-08

            February 2, 2008
Melanie McGavern help her Wedding Reception at the zoo.  It was a great success Thanks to the GREAT volunteers:  Brenda Maddox of Bushnell, Charles Hoffy of New Port Richey, Peggy Anderson of Dade City, Eldridge Rogers of Dade City, Jason Horowitz of Wesley Chapel, Brandon and Kristy Truax of Dade City.  We could not of done it without our zookeepers Mel and Becky, Maintenance Jay Suggs, and Tour Guide Randy Stearns.

The guest enjoyed a two hour zoo tours followed by dinner and dancing.  The tents presented a cozy feeling enriched by the wonderful decorating with natural plants and bamboo.  The round tables were adorned with plant material and crosses.  The Bride and groom arrived in a horse drawn carriage (who behaved admirably with the tigers wanting to eat it).  All the animals were entertained by the guest and seemed to enjoy all the attention.
The chickens enjoyed the bird seed thrown on the couple as they left.  Randy also provided rides in the trolley to and from the church for guest who preferred not to drive.  We also adorned a 1901 oldsmobile buggy as the present table.

We wish the couple many years of happiness and blessings - GOD BLESS
